I am Max Konnor and I am a multi award-winning Adult Entertainer and have worked with a number of studios. I am also the founder of the industry’s first talent management company for models of color, Haus of Konnor. I was also recently named the first male ambassador for Cam4.
How did you end up in the Gay Adult Entertainment Industry?
I’m a professional mainstream actor. I’ve done plays and musicals. In the later years of my career, I was doing much more television. In the summer of 2017 I realized that my passion for the craft didn’t exceed the sacrifice anymore and made a big decision to do porn. I started camming and got an Onlyfans and everything took off from there.
Someone on Twitter wanted to know your perspective on representation within the porn industry.
Diversity and inclusiveness is an ongoing fight within the industry. While it has improved over the years, there is still much work to be done. My company, Haus of Konnor, is planning a panel composed of studio heads and models to discuss where we’re at, and how we can move closer to where we need to be. It’s challenging because consumers control what is put out. They’re the boss. So, you can see how it gets more challenging.
How do you get into the Gay Porn industry?
If you wanna be a Pornstar, you have to put yourself out there. Record some content. Grow a following and network with those who can get you in. You can also get discovered in the right places. Another option would be to simply apply to different websites but for larger studios, this is the least fruitful route.
What kind of advice would you give people that are trying to enter the porn business?
The first thing that comes to mind, when it comes to advice to new models, is know who you are and sell it. Don’t look to the left or right and constantly compare yourself to others. Your journey is your journey.
What is your favourite and least favourite thing about being a gay pornstar?
My favorite thing about being a pornstar is the opportunity to create. Of course, there comes a lot of hate and hurtful words from some along the way. It’s very important to have tough skin and keep creating a body of work that you like. If you like it, that’s all that matters.
Who is your favourite pornstar?
My favorite pornstars are Champ Robinson and Cutler X. Not only are they great at what they do, but I’m very proud to be able to call them both my friends and they are just so down to earth and kind.
What kind of guys are you into?
I’m definitely a twink guy but I’m not bound to that preference. My type is usually anyone I vibe with. Good people don’t come in a set body type, color, height, etc.
How often do you have sex that is not work-related?
I don’t have much sex that isn’t work-related anymore. Maybe a few times a month. I LOVE masturbating haha!
